The Art Route of the Seven Rivers

Probably the longest permanent art exhibition in the world.

Last weekend we decided to visit some of the works of art located along the road to the north of Sweden.

"The Seven River Art Route" is probably the longest permanent art exhibition in the world.  It extends for 350 km, from the coast to the mountains.

Between Bjurholm and Vännäs, one of the installations, sculptor Kent Karlsson's glass church, called "Hägring", stands in a swamp and is reflected in the surrounding landscape.

The Seven Rivers Art Route consists of 13 different installations along the way starting from Holmsund a small town outside the city of Umeå and reaching Borgafjäll in the mountains of southern Lapland in the west.
